About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individual to join our structures department in Rancho Cordova, CA as a Senior Structures/Project Engineer (Bridge). The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures). The candidate will also be involved in leading and developing Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages, field inspections, and performing construction design support services. Project Engineering responsibilities include being the technical lead on multidisciplinary teams, utility coordination, right-of-way needs assessments, funding justifications, and other items needed for project development. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from an accredited 4-year engineering college is required
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) License is required
  • 10-15 years of experience in bridge and retaining wall projects
  • Experience designing transportation related structures projects to Caltrans and local agency standards
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications with Caltrans Amendments
  • Familiarity with Project Engineering and Project Development to Caltrans and local agency standards
  • Proficiency using CADD (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office (WORD and EXCEL)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clients

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred
