About The Position

The position involves managing all testing and certification requirements such as TDI, Florida Product Approvals, Miami Dade NOA's, and FM approvals. The role includes managing all aspects of testing new products or product changes, including concept, hypothesis, budget, material procurement, test build, managing contract testing, and ensuring compliance with ASTM standards. The candidate will prioritize potential R&D projects based on ROI, provide testing and certification support to inside sales, architects, and third-party engineers, and coordinate with Marketing to update product approvals on all Cornerstone Building Brand websites. Effective communication with team members to address needs and difficulties is essential, as well as coordinating work with other departments such as Technical Services/IT, Design, Drafting, and Manufacturing. The role also requires managing all test materials, tools, and company property related to the test lab and its requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous metal testing or metal installation experience.
  • Technical expertise on applicable building codes, material design standards, company procedures, computer software programs, and industry sponsored research.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous R&D Testing experience.
  • Associates Degree.
  • 10-years metal building component design experience, R&D experience, or related field.
  • B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering.
