Our Construction Engineering practice works with fabricators, erectors, construction managers and general contractors to provide connection design, temporary stability analysis, design of structures delegated to the contractor, design of industrial structures, and construction means-and-methods engineering. There will be an emphasis on the development of relationships with current, but also new clients to grow the practices revenue potential. The core areas of focus for growth are providing structural and construction engineering services for the construction industry. The Role We are seeking a talented Senior Engineer for our Kansas City office. This individual will join the Thornton Tomasetti Construction Engineering team and will be involved in connection design, temporary stability analysis, and the design of structures. As our Construction Engineering Practice grows there is great potential for upward mobility and career development within this exciting new role. The goals of this role will be to support national projects. Tasks will include face-to-face interactions with existing clients as well as the opportunity to develop relationships with new clients. You'll form part of a team delivering innovative construction engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, Master's degree preferred.
  • EIT Certification and/or working towards the goal of becoming a Professional Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of current construction industry methodologies and practices
  • Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, Ram, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis, design and detailing for all types of buildings and materials using a variety of building codes and industry standards.
  • Site visits and communication with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Preparation of construction documents utilizing Revit and Bluebeam Revu software.
  • Collaborative team work, delivering projects to meet deadlines.
