About The Position

Coordinating with Structural department staff, conceptualize economical structural systems to suit various project types. (Residential, Commercial, and Industrial) Apply training, experience, and knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and structural design to a wide variety of materials such as structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry, and could include prestressed concrete and wood/timber systems. On occasion, manage project teams of structural staff. Assist in developing marketing fees and proposals with other technical staff and potential teaming partners. Apply structural design principles to developing excellent quality design drawings and specifications. Show competency with standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318. Exercise excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

• PE license in Ohio or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
• Ten years of Structural Engineering consulting business experience.
• Familiar with modeling in a BIM environment (preferably with Revit software).
• Experienced with analytical/design software such as RISA, RAM, and Tedds.
• Familiar with standards such as AISC 341, ACI 350, ACI 530, and NDS.
• Willing to make occasional trips to the Fishbeck Grand Rapids office.
