Our Northeast Engineering Design Organization is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join the team in Harrisburg, PA! In this role, you'll work closely with our talented Engineering group to design, evaluate, and implement a variety of impactful projects, including those in the water/wastewater and industrial sectors. You'll play a key role in developing lasting client relationships built on trust and consistent delivery, while guiding projects from initial proposal through design documentation and construction. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you'll provide expert engineering and technical advice to both internal and external stakeholders, including quality assurance checks of structural designs and documentation. You'll collaborate across all levels of the organization to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are complete. Additionally, you'll help foster a learning-focused, collaborative environment by mentoring and supporting other team members. Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 10 years of structural design experience in water infrastructure and/or complex industrial projects.
  • A thorough working understanding of structural design software such as SAP2000, RISE, SpaceGass, Robot, ETABS packages.
  • Sound knowledge of all applicable regulations, design codes and standards, including International Building Code, ACI, AISC and ASCE.
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create complex engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
  • Analyze information, draft engineering standards and specifications, and evaluate the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Manage technical troubleshooting projects, ensuring effective diagnosis of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
  • Achieve specific goals for a designated part of a research program.
  • Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
  • Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers.
