About The Position

GFT is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our Dams and Hydraulics team in Denver, CO! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Denver office. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering.
• 15+ years of experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state.
• Strong data analysis and problem solving skills.
• Strong technical writing skills (e.g., reports, proposals, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and can effectively communicate with people internally and externally (e.g., clients, staff, regulators).

Nice To Haves

• Masters' Degree with emphasis in structural, civil, mechanical engineering.
• Experience with finite element analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, STADD).
• Experience participating in risk analysis of dams.
• Experience performing seismic analysis of dams and appurtenant structures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals by developing work scope, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Manage projects by monitoring project progress, providing technical assistance, and interfacing with clients.
• Analyze concrete dams and appurtenant structures using computer software and hand calculations.
• Conduct field inspections of project sites to assess existing conditions.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients.
• Serve as engineer of record for design and/or analysis projects.
