The Senior Structural Engineer will lead structural design project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across a variety of sectors including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. This role involves overseeing the project team throughout the design and construction process, ensuring that structural plans are adapted according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for leading the structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through to design completion, ensuring that project requirements set forth by project managers are met effectively. In addition to leading design efforts, the Senior Structural Engineer will prepare structural equipment specifications and data sheets, manage Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and summarize technical bids. The role requires reviewing structural vendor drawings and interfacing with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines. The engineer will also participate in the development of project schedules, scopes, budgets, staffing plans, and construction planning, while managing change orders effectively. The position demands expert knowledge of commonly used structural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the structural engineering services industry. The Senior Structural Engineer will apply their knowledge and experience to complex projects, finding non-standard design solutions as necessary. Quality reviews of production drawings and construction administration will be part of the responsibilities, ensuring that corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software. Field inspections, installation measurements, and calculations for both public and private clients will also be part of the role. The engineer will prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications, build effective relationships with existing clients, and develop new business opportunities. Participation in sales and marketing efforts, leading the development of cost proposals, and preparing project budgets and cost estimates are also key responsibilities. The Senior Structural Engineer will provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers, ensuring adherence to QA/QC processes and effective communication with other engineering disciplines. Compliance with company and site safety policies is essential, along with performing other duties as assigned and complying with all policies and standards.
