About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural / Bridge Design Engineer to be part of AECOM's growing Colorado and U.S. West regional bridge design project work based in the Denver, CO. office. This position will involve performing bridge structure design analysis, including plan preparation of various and diverse bridge structures, BIM and FEM modeling tool usage as well as exposure to and contributing to project work throughout the Western U.S. This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects such as the Portage Bay Bridge and Brent Spence and a dynamic work environment due to the number, type and size of structures that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced structure group this engineer will be joining. Senior Structural Engineer on projects, including reviewing designs and plans. Providing specialized technical input on transportation-related projects. Managing projects, including design tasks and coordination of work with engineering staff. Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation utilizing prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components. Proficient in the use of computer software for the analysis and design of complex structures with an additional focus on 3D bridge modelling workflows. Experience in preparation of technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.

Requirements

  • BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in structural engineering.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools and software).
  • Knowledgeable of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes, such as AREMA, AASHTO, PCI, etc.
  • Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools such as Open Bridge Designer, CSI, Midas, etc.
  • A current PE license in the State of CO.
