About The Position

The Ascendancy Group is seeking a highly experienced Special Operations / Irregular Warfare Planner to provide expert support to USCENTCOM. This senior role requires deep knowledge of the Special Operations Enterprise, Irregular Warfare (IW), and joint planning processes, with a proven ability to advise commanders and synchronize operations across multinational and interagency contexts. The ideal candidate will combine extensive operational experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure effective employment of SOF in support of USCENTCOM’s mission and priorities. Security Requirement: Top Secret/SCI Clearance is required. This position is contingent upon contract award. Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the Special Operations Enterprise.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of specialized experience in compartmented, sensitive military or IC activities.
  • 7+ years directly involved in SOF/IW at a Joint or Geographic Combatant Command HQ.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and coordination skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years with SOF, SMU, or special/technical law enforcement units.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine plans, COAs, FRAGOs, orders, and CONOPs aligned with USCENTCOM objectives.
  • Write, review, and edit IW-related documents and mission concepts.
  • Coordinate and synchronize SOF/IW planning across DoD, interagency, allied, and coalition partners.
  • Advise USCENTCOM leadership on SOF employment and utilization in IW operations.
  • Support ongoing IW operations and special activities, including professional development programs.
  • Conduct FOIA and MDR coordination, ensuring compliance with legal standards and safeguarding of USCENTCOM plans and orders.
