About The Position

The Senior Strategy & Planning Manager is a pivotal role responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy for Carrot Ads, Instacart’s retail media technology powering omni-channel advertising solutions to include on-site and in-store advertising for retailers’ 1P properties. The role will shape product direction, define value propositions, support pricing and packaging, lead commercialization efforts, and identify opportunities to expand inventory, revenue, and retailer engagement. This position requires a strong strategic mindset, deep expertise in the retail media ecosystem, spanning on-site and in-store channels, and experience bringing complex omni-channel ad tech solutions to market. The Senior Strategy & Planning Manager will play a critical role in positioning Carrot Ads as a best-in-class retail media technology platform across both digital and physical retail environments. You will be part of the Retail Strategy and Planning team, a dynamic group focused on crafting strategic paths that uphold Instacart's commitment to excellence and innovation for retailers. Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience working with omni-channel retail media technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Demonstrates adaptability while building new programs, initiatives and processes
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and interpret data

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a tech or strategy role with emphasis on retail media solutions working across on-site and in-store advertising

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans that enable retailers to scale their retail media solutions through on-site and in-store formats such as digital screens, smart cart displays, and other emerging solutions.
  • Lead program management for these omni-channel retail media initiatives, including pipeline development, forecasting, performance reporting, and communication to senior leadership.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, business development, ads, operations, and other cross-functional teams to guide the successful implementation and expansion of retail media capabilities across retailer environments.
  • Analyze performance data to uncover insights, optimize campaign outcomes, and build scalable growth strategies that maximize value for retailers and advertisers.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends across on-site retail media, in-store media networks, and retail technology to ensure Instacart’s solutions remain innovative, competitive, and best-in-class.
