About The Position

As a Senior Strategy Consultant, you’ll help shape how the Rental Power Solutions business competes and grows. You’ll partner across teams and with external experts to uncover market trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities, turning insights into bold strategies. This role is your chance to identify gaps, influence product and service innovation, and help define the next wave of Rental Power solutions.

Requirements

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Extensive experience and knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Negotiating: Working knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Relationship Management: Working knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, economics or related field
  • Previous experience with researching industry data to identify opportunities and develop product / service solutions
  • Experience with leading cross-functional teams / projects to deliver strategic initiatives, strong business acumen and ability make recommendations to senior management
  • Knowledge of the Rental industry and associated drivers
  • Experience with analytical tools
  • Experience in Snowflake, SQL and/or Python

Responsibilities

  • This position leads the Rental Power Solutions industry data accuracy, monitoring of trends and identifying solutions to fill product and service gaps.
  • Ownership of the overall Rental Power industry size, data sources and accuracy
  • Maintain relationship with vendors to provide industry data updates and insights
  • Validate industry size discrepancies with Dealer sourced or alternative 3rd party information
  • Evaluate Cat product and service provider industry coverage gaps and develop strategic solutions to close
  • Evaluate beyond core product and/or service solutions to identify Rental Power opportunities
  • Analyze Rental industry opportunities by region and provide input to Cat NPI prioritization, dealer channel capability improvements and aftermarket program development
  • Publish Rental power industry updates including competitive financial releases, new product announcements, acquisitions, etc.
  • Maintain relationships and information sharing processes with key industry data partners
  • Lead cross-functional teams / projects to support strategic initiatives and targets
