About The Position

Electric Hydrogen ’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels. We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager supporting our Indirect spend. You will negotiate contracts, analyze commercial terms, and improve pricing across an assigned category of indirect spend including Contingent Workforce, such as Technical Services and Business Services for our Engineering and Deployments team. You'll develop category strategies and use market intelligence to develop alternative sources. You'll have experience in best-practice procurement methods, and build partnerships with team members, influence and align roadmaps, and cultivate vendor partnerships. You are someone who is comfortable working while taking full ownership of your domain and recommends alternatives. In addition to the procurement, and vendor management responsibilities, you will contribute to the maturation of the procurement function. This includes creating and refining tools and templates that can be applied across all vendors and categories worldwide. You will work onsite in San Jose, CA and report into the Indirect Procurement Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other related field
  • 5+ years in purchasing, buying, or procurement
  • Demonstrated experience making data-driven decisions with incomplete information
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to partner across different teams
  • Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, Airtable, Smartsheet, or similar tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships to create strategic sourcing models for professional services that improve the value of necessary goods and services
  • Implement cost-effective procurement practices, optimizing supplier performance and competitive pricing
  • Prepare RFQs, RFPs, bid documents, analyze proposals, and administer the evaluation process
  • Craft negotiation strategies and build favorable terms and conditions
  • Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department
  • Contribute input toward the creation and implementation of programs to assess and promote supplier performance, development and management (e.g., establishing quarterly and annual goals, conducting quarterly business reviews, formal scorecard measures)
  • Report out on measurements within your category that support our goals
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to lead collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Analyze market trends, perform benchmarking and use industry knowledge to identify cost-saving opportunities
