About The Position

The Senior Stormwater Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development and inspection of stormwater and erosion and sediment control plans. This position will require a combination of in-office and field-based activities and will be focused on stormwater permitting and inspection in the State of California.

Requirements

  • Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) / Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in stormwater management
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
  • Experience working with geospatial mapping tools and software
  • Experience and comfortability working around active construction machinery
  • Experience in leadership and supervisory role
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle in an off-road environment
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.

Nice To Haves

  • 8 years experience working in stormwater management
  • Proficient in creation of maps using ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise
  • Experience working in the utility industry
  • EPA Construction General Permit Inspector Training Certified
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL)
  • Experience in a safety coordination role
  • OSHA training

Responsibilities

  • Develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Water Pollution Control Plans (WPCP)
  • Develop SWPPP and WPCP maps using ArcGIS
  • Develop Linear Construction Activity Notifications (LCAN)
  • Supervise and train field staff
  • Field QA/QC of field staff work and weekly site visits
  • Coordinate and schedule field staff and sub-contractors
  • Conduct routine inspections of active construction sites for plan compliance
  • Coordinate with clients and relevant agencies to obtain relevant stormwater permits
  • Coordinate closely with Eocene Project Manager, construction contractor, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders on any issues that arise in the field
  • Ensure compliance with stormwater permits
  • Monitor rainfall and conduct rain event inspections as needed
  • Provide training to construction crews on Best Management Practices (BMP)
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s culture of safety and employee ownership
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures
