About The Position

This position involves maintaining and reconciling statutory accounting records in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. The role requires preparing accurate and timely financial statements for statutory reporting purposes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data and ensure its accuracy. Additionally, the candidate will assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process. The position also includes identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of statutory accounting procedures, staying up-to-date with changes in statutory accounting regulations, and ensuring compliance. The candidate will provide support and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment, and participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required. The role involves performing in-depth analytics on statutory reporting with management discussion & analysis, preparing summary reports & agenda of findings based on analytics performed for statutory reports, preparing State Premium Stop-Loss recovery billing and reconciling, and performing general ledger functions, including preparing journal entries & balance sheet reconciliations, to assist with monthly close activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Master's in Business Administration or CPA or equivalent certification required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent current technical skills (MS Office applications)
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of industry-specific statutory accounting requirements is a plus
