About The Position

The Senior Statistician at the Cizik School of Nursing, UTHealth Houston, plays a crucial role in designing statistically valid research studies and applying advanced statistical methods for analysis and reporting. This position involves consulting with Principal Investigators (PIs) on their projects, advising on analysis direction, and articulating data analysis plans for grant proposals. The ideal candidate will possess strong statistical skills and experience in research study design, contributing to impactful healthcare research.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in statistics or a research-related discipline.
• Four (4) years of experience analyzing outcomes from survey data, internal data, and external data.
• Advanced statistical skills.
• Research study design skills.
• Research study supervision skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SPSS, SASS, and R.

Responsibilities

• Develop valid research study designs.
• Develop advanced statistical models including linear regression models, logistical regression models, and trend analyses.
• Analyze and prepare reports resulting from statistical models and analyses.
• Develop survey methodologies and questionnaires using acceptable scientific practices.
• Present results to appropriate institutional committees and groups.
• Supervise the routine tabulation of data and edits.
• Supervise the calculation of means, medians, quantities, percentiles, and coefficients of correlation.
• Supervise Master's-student and Doctoral-student Graduate Assistants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
