We’re searching for a Senior Staff TLM Electrical Engineering, Lidar - HPE. In this role, you will lead an exceptional team of electrical engineers responsible for the development of electronics for Aurora’s internal LiDAR development program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a focus in electrical or computer engineering.
  • 10+ years experience in industry developing complex electrical hardware.
  • 4+ years direct, personnel leadership of electrical engineering teams including hiring, establishing best practices, managing performance and growth.
  • Expertise in system architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high speed signaling, grounding, analog electronics.
  • High proficiency and ability to analyze systems for balancing electro-mechanical and EMI/EMC constraints.
  • Extensive experience with hardware productization: system, board and chip level implementation.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals supported by the use of CAD tools to capture schematic designs, manage PCB layout, leverage Power/Signal simulation/emulation input.
  • Expertise with lab instruments (Oscilloscopes, Analyzers, DMMs, Power Supplies, and E-loads).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LiDAR and photonics principles.
  • Knowledge of automotive requirements, safety framework (ISO26262) and qualification processes.
  • Experience with both rapid prototyping and design for manufacturing.
  • Programming and Scripting (C++, Python or equivalent) experience.
  • FPGA/ASIC Design experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an exceptional team of electrical engineers responsible for the development of electronics for Aurora’s internal LiDAR development program.
  • Collaborate with numerous internal and external teams gathering requirements, defining HW architecture, modeling, and delivering LiDAR electronics that achieve performance and product metrics.
  • Guide and manage the team to build, integrate, test, and debug LiDAR electronics on the bench and in systems; leverage software tools and advanced test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).
  • Mature processes for electrical engineering product development that adhere to safety, execution and quality requirements.
  • Partner with mechanical, operations, and validation teams to mature high quality electrical designs to manufacturing; including supporting test infrastructure development to meet product coverage and yield targets.
  • Leverage deep expertise in product development (define/build/test), and have extensive prior experience launching product.
  • Partner closely with program management to manage project deliverables.
  • Partner closely with supply chain and new product introduction to identify and qualify suppliers, parts and processes.
  • Plan and promote a forward looking outlook to hire and develop the team to meet future product roadmap.
