About The Position

The Senior Staff Test Engineering will be responsible for the entire test strategy and execution for a portfolio of Battery Management System (BMS) products. Oversee the development of test programs and automated test equipment (ATE) for characterization, qualification, and high-volume production of integrated circuits (ICs) used in lithium-ion battery packs. This role requires technical depth in mixed-signal and SOC IC testing and strong leadership to drive design for test, continuous improvement, product quality, and time-to-market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, with a focus on mixed-signal and analog ICs.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience with test solutions for high-performance analog, SOC and mixed-signal products.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and analog/digital circuit design.
  • Proficiency in test automation programming languages such as Python, VBA, C/C++, or MATLAB.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard Automated Test Equipment (ATE), such as Chroma, Advantest, Teradyne, or Cohu.
  • Experience with statistic and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of standard communication protocols used in BMS (e.g., I2C, SPI, SMBus, CAN).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to balance technical details with business requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with battery technology and Battery Management Systems is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team of test engineers fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Work with Design team in defining DFT (Design for Test).
  • Review and define manufacturability flow and achieve best in class cost.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, ensuring skill development and adherence to best practices.
  • Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for new BMS IC products, covering all phases from new product introduction (NPI) to high-volume manufacturing. release
  • Oversee the design, development, and debugging of automated test programs and hardware interfaces for ATE platforms.
  • Ensure that test coverage is robust and sufficient to guarantee the performance, reliability, and safety of product, including key functions like voltage/current monitoring, state-of-charge calculation, and cell balancing.
  • Analyze test data to monitor product yield, identify trends, and drive root-cause analysis for failures in collaboration with design, process, and manufacturing teams.
  • Work closely with design, applications, and validation engineering teams to provide Design-for-Test (DFT) feedback and ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
  • Interface with foundry and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) partners to manage test solutions and address issues for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with the quality and reliability teams to ensure all testing processes comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC, AEC-Q100) and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency, optimize cycle time, and costs.
  • Evaluate and deploy new test equipment, technologies, and methodologies to improve test capabilities for new and product requirement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including plans, procedures, and reports.
