Boston DynamicsWaltham, MA

About The Position

Boston Dynamics is looking for a high-powered Program Manager to lead the execution and management of our Mobile Robot Integrations. This is a flagship, high-visibility role within our deployment organization, responsible for managing one of the world’s largest mobile humanoid robot fleets. You will oversee the delivery of 100+ Atlas robots to various customer sites to achieve contractual uptime targets and large-scale data collection goals. The ideal candidate will manage the transition from current planning phases into a global field execution involving multiple mobile truck units and remote operation centers. You will act as the primary operational bridge between hardware engineering, behavior development, and external research partners, ensuring that complex software integrations and high-level AI models are successfully deployed in diverse industrial environments.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working in fast-paced technology integration, specifically involving mobile assets or field robotics.
  • Experience with complex schedule development, including managing dependencies for multi-site deployments and high-frequency logistical "contingency planning" (e.g., 8-week site rotations).
  • Experience using various configuration management and ticket systems, Buganizer, JIRA, Smartsheet, and Salesforce.
  • Previous project experience implementing complex interdisciplinary systems where hardware, software, and high-level AI/control architectures must be synchronized.
  • Strong communication skills in both spoken and written form, with the ability to translate technical hardware blockers into operational status reports.
  • Ability to adapt to project challenges in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment where software deliverables are evolving in parallel with hardware deployments.

Nice To Haves

  • Project exposure in complex robotic systems, mobile fleet deployments, or Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS).
  • Project experience with unstructured robotic implementations rather than strictly structured automation.
  • A strong track record of successful contribution to customer-facing projects involving high-stakes performance-based milestones.
  • Experience with uptime-linked service models and/or information management solutions that track system availability and data collection throughput.
  • Knowledge of hardware reliability tracking, field triage, and quality control processes for high-degree-of-freedom systems.
  • Smartsheet and/or Salesforce power users with experience building dashboards for fleet-wide visibility.
  • Comfort with process development and the ability to define operational "Single Sources of Truth" (SSOT) where goals are not always formalized in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Facility Integration: Individual Contributor with the ability to learn and engage in general construction management for site power, safety zones, and charging infrastructure, and report status to multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Schedule & Risk Management: Lead the project schedule/plan between the customer and field applications engineering teams to achieve the on-site requirements while reporting status and risks to senior leaders.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings, electrical work instructions, and network diagrams to manage mobile truck upfitting and system installation at customer facilities.
  • Cross-Functional Process Improvement: Partner with Systems Engineering and Finance to improve project execution processes and manage the billing logic tied to the robot availability threshold.
  • Installation & Logistics: Assist with site installation to include material logistics, material inventory, schedule tracking, and supervising subcontractors for facility preparation.
  • Program Templates & Scaling: Work directly with senior team members to assist on larger program-level templates and delivery models to scale operations from initial prototype units to the full robot fleet.
  • Expertise Development: Develop expertise in all facets of our delivery model, network architecture offerings, and customer facility operations.
  • Critical Path Analysis: Learn to calculate critical paths, identify installation roadblocks, isolate hardware/software root causes, and move a solution forward to keep the data collection goal on track.
  • Revenue & RevOps Tracking: Responsible for identifying revenue milestone completion as it relates to the program plan and Revops reporting requirements for the multi-year service contract.

Benefits

  • Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and an annual bonus structure.
  • Additional details regarding these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer for employment.
