Our client is a fast-growing cybersecurity startup backed by top-tier investors, building AI-native identity governance systems for modern enterprises. Their platform helps companies manage access for employees, contractors, service accounts, and even AI agents—solving challenges that traditional identity and access management (IAM) systems can’t handle. They are trusted by leading technology companies and Fortune 500 organizations, and their mission is to define the next generation of enterprise security in an era of rapid automation and scale. This is an opportunity to join early, work directly with customers, and shape the foundation of a high-impact security product used by some of the world’s most innovative teams. As a Senior or Staff Software Engineer , you’ll take ownership of key product areas and build high-impact systems end-to-end. You will: Design and build across the full stack — from backend services (Go, TypeScript) to scalable APIs and intuitive front-end experiences. Collaborate directly with customers (including large enterprise security teams) to understand complex real-world problems and design creative, practical solutions. Lead architectural decisions to ensure the platform scales securely and efficiently as adoption grows. Shape technical culture and best practices , setting standards that improve development velocity and product quality. Contribute to product direction by working closely with design, security, and GTM teams to identify new opportunities and features. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you’ll see your work ship to production quickly and have visible impact on customer outcomes and company growth. The ideal candidate has a strong product and systems mindset , thrives in startup environments, and enjoys working on problems at the intersection of security, scale, and usability.

Requirements

7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Deep fluency in TypeScript, Go, or a comparable modern backend language .
Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems or cloud-based applications.
Strong product sense — you think beyond code to user experience and business impact.
Comfortable working cross-functionally and directly with customers.
Excited by ambiguity and fast-changing priorities; you prefer to define the playbook rather than follow one.
Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco , with 3+ days/week onsite.

Nice To Haves

Experience in identity, access management, or security infrastructure .
Background at top-tier technology companies or high-growth startups with strong engineering cultures.
Prior exposure to enterprise customers or large-scale multi-tenant systems.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
