About The Position

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) provides solutions for public sector organizations and regulated enterprises facing strict data residency and security requirements. This involves building fully isolated, air-gapped environments that operate without connection to Google Cloud or the public internet, offering features like integrated AI/ML from Vertex AI. The team leverages an open ecosystem built on the Kubernetes API and open-source components, and provides flexible hardware options scaling from small to large deployments. In this role, you will define the operations engineering strategy for these solutions, working with engineering teams to optimize the GDC Air-Gapped operations experience. Requirements

• Experience in software engineering with a focus on large-scale system design.
• Strong knowledge of distributed computing and information retrieval.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes API and open-source components.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch teams/projects as needed.
• Leadership qualities and enthusiasm for tackling new problems across the full-stack.
