The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco: Define and drive the long-term technical vision for Moloco’s end-to-end creative platform, powering creative rendering, selection, optimization, and delivery across the Moloco Ads ecosystem. Own the architecture and evolution of the full creative lifecycle from ingestion, validation, and transformation to rendering, selection, serving, and publisher SDK integration while ensuring scalable, low-latency, and high-quality ad experiences globally. Lead the design and launch of new ad formats (image, video, playable, and emerging interactive formats), coordinating across Creative, SDK, Serving, ML, and Advertiser Tooling teams to ensure seamless integration and measurable business impact. Act as the technical authority connecting creative systems with auction dynamics, ranking models, and monetization strategy, driving platform extensibility while maintaining strict performance and reliability standards. Provide cross-organizational technical leadership, mentoring senior engineers and aligning multiple teams around a cohesive creative platform roadmap. Drive measurable improvements in creative effectiveness through scalable experimentation frameworks, dynamic template rendering, ML-driven selection, and AI-powered creative transformation. Improve creative serving performance (e.g. latency, reliability, rendering quality, and SDK compatibility) while supporting increasing traffic, asset complexity, and advertiser demand. Establish architectural foundations that reduce time-to-market for new creative capabilities and unlock faster iteration across product, ML, and engineering teams. Influence the technical direction of a revenue-critical system at the intersection of distributed systems, mobile SDKs, machine learning, and large-scale ad delivery.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience operating at Staff or Principal level scope.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience building and scaling display, video, or interactive/playable ad systems in a production advertising environment.
  • Hands-on experience designing creative processing systems, including ingestion (image, video, HTML), validation, transformation, rendering, selection, and performance optimization.
  • Deep understanding of digital ad creative delivery challenges, including low-latency serving, SDK constraints, rendering quality, asset-heavy pipelines, dynamic content generation, and ML-driven ranking.
  • Experience launching new ad formats end-to-end, coordinating across SDK, serving, ML, and product teams.
  • Strong experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems under strict reliability and latency requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-team technical initiatives, influence architectural direction, and mentor senior engineers.
  • Strong system design skills, from requirements gathering through architecture, implementation, and production ownership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders around complex technical decisions.
