Senior Staff Silicon Product Supply Specialist

Google LLCAustin, TX
51d$227,000 - $320,000

About The Position

In this role, you'll work to shape the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration. You will have an opportunity to drive cutting-edge TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) technology that powers Google's most demanding AI/ML applications. You'll be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's TPU. You'll contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide, and leverage your design and verification expertise to verify complex digital designs, with a specific focus on TPU architecture and its integration within AI/ML-driven systems. As a Senior Silicon product supply specialist, you will build High Quality Manufacturing infrastructure and use this to ramp silicon products to HVM (High Volume Manufacturing). You will define, lead, and track our products' high volume manufacturing operations: Foundry, Assembly, CP/FT ATE test, System level Testing, Burn In and comprehensive unit traceability systems connecting units in a data center to all silicon manufacturing steps. You will also drive Cycle time optimizations, Cost reduction and Yield improvements processes to meet customer schedules and quality needs. You will deliver products in a fabless semiconductor model using your deep knowledge of the full manufacturing flow including all test insertions, DFT, package assembly, and Silicon/Package qualification. In this role, you will be selecting and managing suppliers who provide us wafer probe, assembly and final test capabilities to manufacture google cloud SOC's. You will be working with planning, operations, engineering and customer teams to resolve supply bottlenecks using your deep understanding of the OSAT operations, cycle time, yields/test times, capacity loading and product specifications. Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, related degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in System on a Chip (SoC) manufacturing development and production ramp.
  • 8 years of experience with semiconductor fabrication technologies, yield analysis, process life cycles and driving cost and quality initiatives in production.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Physics or a related engineering field.
  • Experience across all test insertions from chip probe to final test, SLT to finished goods, and cycle time optimizations across the full manufacturing flow including test hardware and managing suppliers on execution to ramp OSAT's.
  • Experience in applying AI/ML techniques to drive HVM optimization to improve cycle time, cost and quality.
  • Experience in applying SPC to identify problem areas across the manufacturing flow.
  • Knowledge of probability and statistical fundamentals to drive data analysis and process control.

Responsibilities

  • Define, lead, and track SoC products operations covering NPI and HVM across all manufacturing insertions Chip Probe, Final test, System level Test, Burn In to drive cost reduction, yield improvements and proactively identify/address capacity or quality issues across the manufacturing flow.
  • Utilize demand forecasts to drive readiness across manufacturing suppliers.
  • Utilize AI/ML models and data analysis tools to identify trends that may impacting product delivery schedules, quantity/quality, and put processes/infrastructure to measure/learn/address to avoid repeat occurrences.
  • Work closely with design, engineering, operations, and product management teams to gather inputs, validate forecasts, and ensure SoC manufacturing execution is aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with supply chain to optimize inventory levels based on demand forecasts and ensure manufacturing capacity is not a limiter.
