About The Position

At General Motors, we empower Product Managers to solve challenging customer and business problems. We seek passionate and innovative team members who can collaborate effectively within product management, program management, design, and engineering teams to discover and deliver impactful solutions. We hold our teams accountable for results and seek leaders who can influence teammates, stakeholders, and executives using data and logic. As the Senior/Staff Product Manager for AV Features, you will own the vision and roadmap for AV customer-facing features, ensuring we build the right product for our customers. You will partner closely with the Product Capability team, Systems Engineering, Autonomy Engineering, UX, Safety, and Marketing to translate customer insights, competitive intelligence, and technical constraints into clear product requirements and a prioritized backlog. Acting as the voice of the customer across the AV organization, you will make principled tradeoffs, validate concepts with data and research, and drive execution from concept through launch and OTA iterations to deliver intuitive, trust-building eyes-off experiences at scale. Success requires strong technical judgment, principled decision-making, and the ability to build alignment across engineering and vehicle teams. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, making tough tradeoffs, and translating business needs into engineering priorities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years (Senior) or 5+ years (Staff) product management or related industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of ADAS / autonomous driving systems, including how all systems interact and come together to deliver safe, automated driving experience
  • Ability to reason about vehicle, compute, and sensing constraints and translate them into pragmatic product decisions and requirements.
  • Strong skills in deriving actionable insights from user research, simulator and track studies, and fleet/telemetry data, and using them to drive roadmap and prioritization.
  • Exceptional ability to translate highly technical autonomy and safety concepts into intuitive, customer-facing features and crisp requirements for engineering teams.
  • Comfortable navigating regulatory ambiguity, safety tradeoffs, and evolving autonomy while making principled, data-informed decisions.
  • Proven ability to align and influence cross-functional partners (engineering, safety, UX, marketing, operations) around a clear product strategy and set of outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in related field
  • Direct experience shipping customer-facing ADAS/AV features in production vehicles or similarly safety-critical domains.
  • Strong understanding of human cognitive load, situational awareness, and the psychology of trust in automated driving systems and hands-free experiences.
  • Experience launching products that require tight integration between vehicle hardware, sensors, HMI, and in-vehicle/companion software.
  • Prior work with OTA-delivered features, including experimentation frameworks, feature gating, and staged rollouts across a fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term product vision and roadmap for customer-facing AV features across vehicle programs, balancing customer value, safety, technical constraints, and business objectives.
  • Translate customer insights, competitive intelligence, and field/telemetry data into clear product requirements, PRDs, and a prioritized backlog for AV features.
  • Partner with Product Capability, Systems Engineering, Autonomy, UX-HMI, Safety, and Marketing to define intuitive, trust-building eyes-off experiences from concept through launch.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution for AV feature launches and OTA iterations, including rollout strategy, configuration, validation, and change management.
  • Act as the voice of the customer in design and engineering forums, driving principled tradeoffs between usability, safety, performance, and cost.
  • Define and monitor key success metrics (e.g., feature adoption, driver trust, safety leading indicators, incident/complaint rates) and use them to guide prioritization and iteration.
  • Use experimentation, user research, and data analysis (sim, track, fleet, and in-market) to validate concepts, de-risk new features, and refine the product roadmap.
  • Shape and evangelize the AV product strategy across the AV and vehicle organizations, building alignment with senior leaders and adjacent teams on priorities and milestones.

Benefits

  • GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs. Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Accounts, retirement savings plan, sickness and accident benefits, life insurance, paid vacation & holidays, tuition assistance programs, employee assistance program, GM vehicle discounts and more.
