About The Position

We're assisting a profitable Enterprise AI Customer Support startup with their search for senior/staff ML research engineers. The role will be onsite in their SF office. What you'll do: Develop models for customer support tasks that exceed the performance of closed source models Experiment with small open-source models to drive order of magnitude reductions in latency across channels Break down ambiguous research ideas into clear, iterative milestones and roadmaps.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or research
• Experience fine-tuning and deploying LLMs in production environments.
• Experience at early-stage startups, autonomous vehicles, agentic AI companies, multi-modal AI companies
• Experience gathering data/generating synthetic data, performing supervised fine-tuning and RL, and working on evaluations and deployments.
• Familiar with SFT, FL, DPO, PPO, GRPO

Nice To Haves

• Experience with voice/speech
• Experience working with large open source LLMs
• Prior experience working with multi-modal models
