GEICO is seeking an experienced Sr Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Agent Engineering to join our AI org. This person will play key roles for the development of Geico's virtual assistant platform that elevates the productivity for 30K+ internal associates and the customer experience for millions of our policyholders. You will be collaborating with a dynamic team of AI and software engineers to design, develop and deploy systems that ensure productivity, scalability and usability of GenAI workflows across Geico. Agent Engineers implements GenAI solutions for business stakeholders with both proven capabilities and experimental features, while synthesizing valuable insights to influence the product roadmap of the platform. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of building high performance AI solutions, with hands-on experience in Generative AI-related ecosystems.

  • Own design, development and maintenance of high-performance AI solutions that utilize agentic workflows to deliver concrete business value for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, product managers, designers to gather requirements, define project scope and prioritize feature backlogs.
  • Contribute to the selection, evaluation, and implementation of software technologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Take ownership in project planning and stakeholder management, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and timely delivery of solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers via code reviews and design sessions.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience with at least two general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, TypeScript.
  • 7+ years of experience architecting, building & deploying end-to-end AI solutions utilizing open-source/cloud-agnostic components.
  • 5+ years' experience managing end-to-end solution development life cycle.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience interfacing directly with internal business stakeholders and/or external stakeholders on AIML initiatives.
  • 4+ years' experience with tools that power LLM-based AI agents.
  • 3+ years' experience building LLM-based AI agent workflows via both no code/low code and traditional high-code development environments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
