As a Senior Staff FPGA ISP Engineer, you will play a key role in developing high performance imaging technology that supports next generation surgical visualisation and navigation platforms. What will you be doing? • Designing and implementing image signal processing pipelines for advanced vision systems • Creating FPGA configurations and IP cores to support high performance architectures • Developing and verifying image processing algorithms using Verilog and MATLAB, ensuring mathematical accuracy before hardware deployment • Collaborating closely with embedded software teams to integrate FPGA designs into broader systems • Optimising FPGA designs for timing, resource utilisation and throughput • Ensuring seamless integration of internally developed and third party IP cores • Contributing to architecture and design discussions that shape the future of our vision platforms What will you need to be successful? • A bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field • Professional experience in FPGA development including RTL design, simulation, timing analysis and lab bring up • Strong understanding of ISP fundamentals and their implementation on FPGAs • Proficiency with Xilinx Vivado and MATLAB • Experience with low latency camera system design and FPGA based imaging architectures • Familiarity with Xilinx MicroBlaze processor architectures and embedded software • Strong problem solving, debugging and technical communication skills You Unlimited. The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $145,000 - $217,000 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field
