Senior Staff Field Engineer
About The Position
T&M Associates is seeking a Senior Staff Field Engineer who thrives on fieldwork to join our Land Development team in the Mid-Atlantic region. This role supports land development and site civil improvement projects, with a primary focus on construction administration for public-sector work in southeastern Pennsylvania, including publicly bid K–12 school facilities. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with a mix of remote, in-office, and field work. Key Responsibilities Serve as a liaison between field construction teams and office-based site civil/LA design staff. Coordinate with owners, architects, MEPF engineers, construction managers, and contractors during construction. Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders; attend recurring construction meetings and perform site visits. Monitor construction progress and verify compliance with design intent, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Support site civil designs, including grading, stormwater management, utilities, roadways, drainage, and erosion control. Support project oversight, technical documentation, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and permitting. Assist with land use and zoning processes and mentor junior staff as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in construction administration.
- Experience with public-sector projects and familiarity with municipal, DEP, and DOT permitting.
- Strong understanding of bid and construction documentation and processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is a plus.
