As Engineers on the EHS team, we are responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations while protecting company assets (people, property, time) in a manner that is consistent with our business strategy. We represent our interests to all partners on matters pertaining to compliance, asset protection, and ensuring the resources to accomplish the organization’s objectives. Grow with us! As an Environmental Engineer with a focus on air, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving Micron’s environmental, health, and safety programs and procedures to ensure personnel and plant-wide compliance with air quality regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Environmental-related field.
  • Minimum 4 years minor or major source air permitting and compliance.
  • Solid understanding of air quality laws (NSPS, NSR, NESHAP, MACT, PSD) regulations, and standards.
  • Familiarity/solid understanding of CAA, RCRA, CERCLA, CWA (NPDES, MSGP, CGP, SPCC) ISO14001.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Air Dispersion Modeling, Title V Permitting and Compliance, Risk Management Plans and Process Safety Management are a plus.
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement vital programs that fulfill federal, state, and local air quality regulations while interpreting regulations for applicability and developing compliance plans with the operations team.
  • Develop and maintain accurate environmental permits, modifications, and operating procedures along with preparing regulatory and internal reports, quantifying emissions and impacts and participate in regulatory inspections.
  • Evaluate proposed facility changes, chemical and physical manufacturing processes and potential new chemistries while addressing regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Evaluate pollution control technologies, including technical, and economic feasibility of pollution control equipment.
  • Support new construction permitting activities and permit modifications.
  • Perform and participate in compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and conformance with ISO14001.
  • Represent Micron in a professional and effective manner to both internal and external parties.
  • Respond to environmental issues and carry/answer the on-call phone when assigned.
