About The Position

Venture Global LNG is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer, Process to join our team for our Plaquemines Parish Facility. This role reports to the Manager, Process Engineering, and will support the review of process design and operations engineering functions to meet the objectives of the project as delivered by the EPC and external consultants. The successful candidate is preferred to have strong design understanding and operational expertise of key equipment involved in LNG liquefaction facilities with demonstrable experiences working with Feed Gas and Pre-Treatment systems, Liquefaction and Refrigeration Systems, Storage and Loading / BOG management Systems.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer's (PE) License or equivalent CEng license is preferred.
• 8-15 years’ experience working in a senior engineering capacity in an industrial setting in engineering or operations.
• Previous experience of process engineering leadership within an industrial setting.
• Oil and Gas experience is required, with at least 6 years in LNG applications.
• Working knowledge of key equipment involved in LNG liquefaction facilities is preferred.
• Experience in all aspects of projects from conceptual design, economics, detailed engineering, and plant startup and troubleshooting is preferred.
• Commissioning, start-up and performance testing at project sites is a plus.

• Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, and discipline specific software applications: HYSYS, Aspen Plus, data historian, etc.
• Knowledge & application of relevant major design codes and standards (including NFPA 59A).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the focal points for all areas of process engineering to ensure that the facility operates according to agreed budgets, schedules and design requirements.
• Responsible for process engineering deliverables to ensure they comply with the project design and operation philosophies.
• Prepare heat and material balance, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams for modifications.
• Responsible for system design parameters, and design or rating of equipment such as heat exchangers, vessels, towers, etc. and provide technical guidance on design issues.
• Review and coordinate with licensors, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure proper and complete integration within the facility.
• Provide daily support to plant Production personnel in troubleshooting process issues and concerns by integrating fundamental principles of fluid flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and hydrocarbon process chemistry.
• Support the development and utilize Process Monitoring tools that monitor process efficiency, and make and implement improvement recommendations to enhance production and efficiency performance.
• Develop and approve complex Operations guidelines and Engineering procedures to support new and special operating modes of the CP facility.
• Lead Process Engineering support for plant shutdowns/turnarounds.
• Support the development of process simulations for unit operations, updates and modifies process simulation models.
• Support process improvement studies, performance optimization, incident investigations, economic evaluations, technical audits and safety studies.
• Support regulatory site technical queries, non-conformances, concession requests are properly resolved.
• Perform economic evaluations of equipment alternatives with emphasis on availability and reliability projections and life cycle costs.
• Provide leadership to other process engineers in the team.
