Our team creates products are built on a mature, cloud-native event-driven microservices architecture hosted in AWS. SailPoint is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help build our massively distributed cloud-based Data Platform that underpins our cloud-based Identity services. We are looking for well-rounded backend data platform engineers who are passionate about building and delivering reliable, scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products. As a member of the team, you will be integral in building this product and will be part of an agile team that is in startup mode. This is a unique opportunity to build something from scratch but have the backing of an organization that has the muscle to take it to market quickly, with a very satisfied customer base.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong Java and Python experience
  • Great communication skills
  • BS in Computer Science, or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both oral and written. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS cloud and a modern data technology stack like dbt, airflow, flink, snowflake, databricks
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery
  • Experience working on a Big Data/Machine Learning product
  • Experience instrumenting code for gathering production performance metrics

Responsibilities

  • Deliver efficient, maintainable, robust data platform services.
  • Produce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements.
  • Collaborate with peers on designs, code reviews, and testing.
  • Produce unit and end-to-end tests to improve code quality and maximize code coverage for new and existing features.
  • Acts as a mentor for junior developers.
  • Help foster a community of continuous improvement
