This role will manage account reconciliations, prepaid schedules, payroll accounting, prepare and review journal entries, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and support the preparation of financial statements. Here is how the Senior Staff Accountant will help: Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close. Manage payroll accounting and related reconciliations ensuring timely reconciliation and resolution of any differences Oversee compliance and tracking of operating grants acting as the first point of contact and partnering across the organization to gather required inputs. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, GASB and organizational policies. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements. Maintain and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Support external and internal audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Treasury and other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed. Participate in special projects, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives. Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.
