About The Position

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the financial integrity of our operations. You will be responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, financial reporting, manufacturing and cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, month-end and year-end close processes, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing accounting is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operations leadership.
  • Strong communication skills to support collections and customer billing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries, ensuring accurate account coding and maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable/receivable, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and support internal reporting packages for management.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, analyze standard costs, variances, and production performance.
  • Review labor and overhead allocations for accurate costing and support inventory accuracy processes.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable oversight, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of vendor invoices.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, track capital projects, and manage asset additions, disposals, and transfers.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, prepare financial schedules for audits and tax filings, and coordinate with external CPA firms.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies, support sales/use tax reporting, and assist in developing internal controls.
  • Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes, recommend improvements, and participate in ERP system reporting and cross-functional projects.
