About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance department through the accurate preparation and maintenance of financial records, reconciliations, and reports. This role ensures compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards, contributing to the overall efficiency and integrity of financial operations.

  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP/ IFRS.
  • Proficiency in month-end close processes, journal entry preparation, and reconciliation of complex accounts.
  • Understanding of tariff, PSC/drawback entries, and related financial implications.
  • Experience with HFM reporting or similar financial consolidation tools.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and multiple systems for reconciliation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required.
  • Years of Education Bachelor’s Degree of Accounting.
  • Work Experience 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly consolidated financial reporting packages for submission to HQ
  • Support quarterly and annual audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Prepare recurring journal entries, including but not limited to amortization, depreciation, payroll, and lease accounting entries.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and cash management activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review supporting documentation for all entries and maintaining proper audit trails.
  • Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies or aged items, ensuring accounts are clean for year-end close.
  • Perform complex reconciliations for accounts such as advance payments, related party transactions, and other high-volume balance sheet accounts.
  • Conduct tariff reviews and analyses to ensure completeness and accuracy in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Prepare fixed asset reports, manage additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
  • Maintain capitalization policies, monitor construction-in-progress, and support internal controls and audits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal control frameworks to ensure the reliability of financial reporting, safeguard company assets, and support compliance with corporate policies, and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Finance, Operations, MKT, IT, HR, etc.) to design process improvements, remediate control deficiencies, and provide training to ensure consistent understanding and execution of internal control procedures across the organization.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses, reporting, and project support as assigned by management.
