About The Position

Formentera Operations is seeking an oil and gas revenue accountant for its Austin, Texas office. This position will be responsible for the detailed analysis and accurate recording of revenues from oil, gas, and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all revenue transactions are processed efficiently and in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to support the company's financial objectives.

Requirements

Ability to make informed and effective decisions by analyzing data and assessing
Advanced Excel skills, as well as proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite products.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with revenue recognition, severance tax, and revenue allocation.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues from various departments.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
3-5 years of accounting experience

Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices.

Responsibilities

Record monthly oil & gas revenue for assigned purchasers
Prepare and maintain well level allocations for assigned purchasers
Prepare severance taxes for assigned purchasers and reconcile taxes payable
Reconcile purchaser receivables for assigned purchasers
Prepare assigned account reconciliations
Help prepare and file necessary reports to government entities
Provide response/resolution in a timely and thorough manner to all internal and external inquiries
Comply with internal controls ensuring appropriate documentation for the control requirements
