About the team and position We’re looking for a high-energy Senior Accountant to join our team. Under the direction of the Tax Manager, the Senior Accountant, Indirect Tax is responsible for data gathering, compilation and analysis of sales, and use tax information and reconciling General Ledger accounts with the use of SQL and Microsoft Excel. This will be a position with full visibility into the business model and collaboration with other business units in the company. Most importantly, you will see your insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a well-funded company.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience with an emphasis on filing tax returns (experience in Indirect Tax, preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate among multiple business units and communicate effectively
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF Formulas).
  • A sense of urgency and professionalism, with impeccable communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Indirect tax compliance, including but not limited to, multi-state Sales and Use tax filings.
  • Compiling information from several data sources, analyzing tax liabilities.
  • Querying financial data through SQL.
  • Act as a liaison between multiple departments to resolve tax-related issues.
  • Preparing Exemption Certificates.
  • Managing Tax Correspondence.
  • Researching complex multi-state tax and registration issues.
  • Analyzing and improving processes surrounding Sales and Use tax compliance.
  • Taking on Special Projects as needed.
