About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant-Fixed Asset provides operational accounting support within Controllership, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliations, and compliance. The role leverages ERP tools to improve data quality, cycle time, and control rigor, with unique responsibilities as outlined below.

Requirements

• Clear communicator; collaborative across Finance, IT, and Member Services.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive problem solver.
• Meet close deadlines and maintain control documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience with strong reconciliation and ERP skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly close tasks: journal entries, reconciliations, and variance investigations.
• Maintain documentation to support audit requests and internal controls.
• Partner with IT through accounting leadership to improve automation and data quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across Controllership processes.
• Own fixed asset lifecycle accounting: capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and impairment testing per policy.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger; reconcile to GL and ensure appropriate project-to-asset transfers (AUC).
• Coordinate with Operations and FP&A on CAPEX tracking, approvals, and post-investment reviews.
• Improve documentation and automation for asset records, tagging, and physical verification.
• Maintain lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842.
