About The Position

The Security Operation Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security alarm systems, including intrusion detection, video, and access control systems. This role ensures all systems operate effectively to protect personnel, property, and assets. This position supports various UL-certified areas and adheres to compliance standards specified by UL, ICD, and JFAN, NISPOM CFR-32 Part 117.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Must be able to obtain a TS clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in alarm system installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and low-voltage electronics.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and applicable codes (e.g., UL 2050, UL 681, ICD-705, NISPOM 32-CFR Part 117).

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications preferred, Software House Ccure9000, Bosch and Honeywell alarm systems along with Avivilon video system (Adminstator and Integrator) certificates.
  • Experience with IP-based security systems and networking.
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Software House, Avigilon, Honeywell, Bosch).
  • Experience in National Industrial Security Systems and Monitoring Station operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Able to be granted and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Install, configure, and test alarm systems, including Open Storage Area/SAPF/SCIF systems.
  • Oversee new alarm installations, including system programming and setup.
  • Maintain and upgrade software/firmware on all systems and devices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tests and annual inspections to ensure system reliability.
  • Provide technical support and training to users on system operation and procedures.
  • Manage system quotes, estimates, and installation projects for alarms, access control, and video systems.
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills related to card readers, doors, gates, and turnstiles.
  • Integrate and program Bosch controllers, Bosch encryption modules, and MicroKey automation systems, including system design
  • Respond to alarms, troubleshoot systems, receivers, and servers, ensuring compliance with ICD-705, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117 standards.
  • Administer C-Cure 800/9000 configurations, new card reader installations, and data communication setups.
  • Strong Server maintenance background including hardware and software configuration
  • Install and interface IP cameras with various equipment.
  • Program and test video systems, including Avigilon Network Video Recorders (NVRs).
  • Respond to video alarms and troubleshoot camera and data loss issues.
  • Maintain a response time of 4 hours for non-critical alarms and immediate response for critical issues.
  • Ensure that all UL certifications and related documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare for annual inspections and audits by UL and DCSA, keeping all necessary records and certifications.
  • Install and maintain IDS equipment per UL and Industry Standards
  • Configure Bosch D6600 receivers and associated network circuitry
  • Honeywell and Bosch alarm panel programming
