  • Systems engineering lead that organizes, participates, and manages key project/program engineering tasks.
  • Leads requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility and/or subcontractors, and manages traceability of requirements back to customer specifications and system level derived requirements.
  • Leads design synthesis and generation of supporting design documentation which includes technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures, and test conformance to specifications through verification cross reference matrix (VCRM).
  • Ensures technical performance, quality, and adherence to established policies and processes.
  • Develops and presents project/program design reviews for both internal and external customer audiences.
  • Leads or assists in project/program schedule and budget planning, subcontract control, risk management.
  • Leads or assists in management over systems engineering team and other teams of functional design engineers.
  • Leads or assists system integration, verification, and qualification events.
  • Participation in customer request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP) and new business development pursuits, including on-site and off-site technical capability demonstration.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to guide the technical direction/vision for a given project.
  • An understanding of communication theory, with a working knowledge of digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design, or software design of digital line-of-sight and satellite communication systems.
  • Experience in requirements management and documentation is a must.
  • Other key skills are risk management, project planning, and technical project management.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and formal presentation skills are required.
  • Candidate should be skilled in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, DOORs, or similar tools.
  • Experience managing technical projects that include system integration, system verification, and formal qualification, including supporting integration and qualification events at customer locations.
