About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to work with manufacturing operations at our ARDE Facility located in Carlstadt NJ.  ARDE designs and manufactures pressure vessels (tanks) for Aerospace applications. This is a dynamic environment that requires motivated, self-starting individuals with hands-on experience. Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for manufacturing activities including tooling design and process development. They must be able to follow company procedures and requirements for the manufacture of advanced, man-rated, and high value aerospace hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge/Experience with Manual and CNC Machining, Welding, Assembly, Metal Cleaning, Familiar with NDT and dimensional measurement techniques, Creation of Process drawings.
  • Knowledge/Experience with Microsoft Office, with high competence with Excel desirable.
  • Knowledge of AS9100D
  • Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing review.
  • Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Precision assembly of aerospace hardware.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and six sigma principles.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for the fabrication of pressure vessels.
  • Create detailed work instructions, procedures that meet design, process, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Provide shop floor support of manufacturing processes and vendor support as required.
  • Design and implement tooling and fixtures to support efficient manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
  • Provide technical guidance and/or training to the shop floor.
  • Review engineering drawings for manufacturability.
  • Interface with all the related support groups for processes to ensure accuracy, control and safety of the personnel and quality of the hardware.
  • Perform investigations of nonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
