About The Position

The Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) is responsible for managing and directing all security-related operations for the assigned SAPF/SCIF. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of security functions, including SAPF/SCIF operations, program support, information security, and specialized focus on personnel security (PERSEC) and physical security (PHYSEC). The CSSO implements all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on DoD SAP Manuals, 32 CFR Part 117, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and other governing directives, as applicable. As a seasoned security professional, the incumbent demonstrates dedication and excellence while working independently and making critical decisions without direct supervision. Operating effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the CSSO functions as a collaborative team player who exhibits flexibility, establishes priorities, and manages customer expectations. The position requires regular interaction with internal and external customers, as well as Government security officials, in the performance of security duties. The incumbent is also responsible for supporting and enacting all L3Harris corporate policies, including the protection of L3Harris' intellectual property.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain security program policies to ensure ongoing compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, IC, DoD SAP Manuals, and other requirements of all classified programs under purview.
  • Prepare Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlining customer guidelines and establishing procedures for the handling, storage, and transportation of assigned assets.
  • Conduct all security related employee briefings to include indoctrination, debriefing, courier, closed area, program access, CUI, OPSEC, Insider Threat, derivative classification, foreign travel, and routine annual security trainings.
  • Prepare and maintain Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs) in accordance with ICD 705.
  • Implement DD-254 Security Guidance and ensure program compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Analyze and investigate security incidents and violations; prepare internal and external customer reports.
  • Conduct annual self-inspections.
  • Physical security duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining and changing combinations, access control systems, alarm accesses, secure area modifications and buildouts
  • Maintain PERSEC databases including TALON, JADE and SIMS.
  • Proficient in the use of TALON, DISS, JADE and SIMS
