The Senior Specialist, FP&A is a member of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, working in collaboration with the finance, advancement, and programs teams. As a critical support to the Financial Planning and Analysis team, the Senior Specialist, FP&A will assist in leading financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities, leading to continuing financial sustainability, cost recovery strategies, and future insights. This position manages tight deadlines and a multitude of activities including costing allocations, budget proposal support, financial reporting and analysis support, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. As needed, this position may provide support to other Finance-related functions, such as the month-end close process. Serves as a senior advisor to program managers and directors, supporting the development of program level financial strategies and alignment with organizational goals. Maintains and updates FP&A procedures, staff training materials, and other documentation. Collaborates with the Advancement division and programmatic departments to develop financially sound, effective and efficient budgets for contracts and proposals. Requirements

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
  • Preferred minimum of four (4) + years of related work experience in finance or accounting.
  • Preferred minimum of three (3) + years of financial analysis, grant, project, and/or costing accounting experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive Planning, and Excel technology systems is preferred.
  • Grant and/or fund accounting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work on a fast-paced team and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Any experience in an education or non-profit environment preferred.
