The Image Data Analytics Team within the Data Science and Scientific Informatics department is focused on developing innovative techniques for quantitative analysis of multi-dimensional images to support drug candidate assessments. This role involves applying advanced data science methodologies to enhance pharmaceutical research and development processes, collaborating with various scientists and engineers across the pharmaceutical pipeline.

  • Apply image processing, signal processing, computer vision, machine learning, and data mining techniques to extract meaningful information from multi-modality datasets.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers across the pharmaceutical pipeline from discovery to clinical assessment.
  • Manage project schedules, communicate with collaborators, and deliver results independently and on time.
  • Conduct research and apply mathematical and computational tools to advance projects.
  • Identify opportunities for new collaborations and propose solutions to business needs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and collaborators.
  • Identify opportunities for innovations and execute them effectively.
  • Write scientific reports and research articles, and conduct scientific presentations.
  • Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in machine learning, pattern recognition, data mining, image processing, computer vision, signal processing, and statistics.
  • Experience in biomedical image processing in a medical, healthcare, or pharmaceutical domain.
  • Fluency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, C++, or Java.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with research scientists and acquire domain knowledge.
  • Ability to manage project schedules and deliver results independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in handling histology images (e.g., H&E, IHC).
  • Experience in handling radiology images (e.g., CT, MRI, PET).
  • Experience with deep learning packages such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or MXNet.
  • Knowledge of high performance computing, GPU computing, and Cloud computing.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics and genomics.
  • Experience with big data tools like Hadoop or Spark.
  • Publication history in related fields.
