Job Title: Senior Specialist, Cyber Infrastructure Systems Engineer Job Code: 32451 Job Location: Denver, CO Job Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sr. Specialist, System Administrator to join our Denver, CO team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in managing and optimizing VMware and KVM virtual infrastructures, along with a solid understanding of basic networking principles and Linux administration. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong acumen for managing the sysadmin budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control for upgrades and enhancements. The candidate must have a proven track record of designing and implementing solutions that comply with security policies, maintaining a secure and resilient IT environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 Required
  • Professional Certifications: CCNA-Security, Security+ CE, or higher certification.

  • Current Linux Certifications such as RedHat Certification (RHCSA or RHCE) or CompTIA Linux+.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux systems (both physical and virtual).
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure through automation using tools such as Ansible, Kickstart, Puppet, etc.
  • Install, configure, test, and update the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Framework for operational deployment.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in compliance with DoD security frameworks and RMF requirements, integrating RMF principles into ground-up builds and ongoing security administration.
  • Integrate Linux and Windows systems within a unified IDM/Active Directory Domain and manage LDAP-based identity management for both platforms.
  • Create and manage containers in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and OpenShift orchestration platforms.
  • Customize, optimize, and troubleshoot enterprise-level applications.
  • Utilize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), agile system development, and DevSecOps tools and processes.
  • Employ software lifecycle applications such as Jenkins, Jira, and Bitbucket for continuous integration, build management, and automated test frameworks.
  • Utilize virtualization technologies (KVM, VMWare), backup technologies (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, SAS), and microservices/containers (e.g., Docker).
  • Administer cross-domain systems and support DoD/government customers.
  • Provide infrastructure and systems expertise to support systems engineering activities including technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and cost/risk analyses.
  • Support engineering teams with analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Assist with the conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Support functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Work to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results.
  • Contribute to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans).
