Requirements

• 4 years' of medical coding experience in a health plan Required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCC coding and reimbursement guidelines Required.
• Knowledge and understanding of Medicare Advantage contracts and/or financial analysis Required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and Electronic Health Record ("EHR") Systems Required.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word Required.
• Strong Analytical and problem solving skills Required.
• Strong Organizational skills and attention to detail Required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information Required.
• Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently.
• Certified Professional Coder ("CPC") Required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as subject matter expert, lending guidance and offering solutions for government projects and initiatives related to Medicare risk adjustment coding.
• Review Provider notes to abstract, assign, and enter valid ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes into EHR Platform (EPIC).
• Assists in audits of Coder process functions and coordinates Monthly Coder Education.
• Work with Providers to gain clarification or provide feedback to resolve coding issues and associated problems.
• Liaison with the Revenue Cycle TMs on any coding capture questions.
• Onboarding and training of new Coders.
