We are hiring immediately for a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer to join us in our Westminster, CO office. This position allows for a two-day hybrid work-from-home and three days in the office. We are seeking a well-rounded aerospace systems engineer to join our Spacecraft Systems Engineering group. As part of the team, you be a leader in the development cycle of earth imaging space programs. Starting from customer needs and our industry-leading heritage, you will architect a system, derive spacecraft requirements and work with bus and payload suppliers to make that vision a reality. Along the way you will interface with in-house imagery, ground systems, and operation experts as well as external suppliers and customers. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance of the TS/SCI level.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field of study.
  • 5-10 years of experience with space systems engineering.
  • Experience with the full system engineering life cycle: architecture and ConOps development, system and subsystem requirements definition, design reviews, assembly integration and test, verification and validation, and on-orbit operations.
  • Design experience with at least one spacecraft bus subsystem: C&DH/Avionics, Thermal, Electrical/Power, ADCS/GNC, Structures, Communications, Propulsion, Encryption.
  • Solid understanding of all other subsystems and interfaces between them.
  • An understanding of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) space environments and their impacts on system performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master or Doctorate in a relevant field.
  • Direct experience on at least one earth observation space program.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, circuit design and analysis.
  • In depth space system engineering/analysis experience with one or more of the following preferred subsystems: Electrical/Power, Structures, Thermal, Encryption.
  • Familiarity with software architecture, satellite bus flight software in particular.
  • Familiarity with modern cybersecurity principles.
  • A willingness to mentor junior engineers.
