EOI Space is looking for a Senior Spacecraft Integration Engineer to create and drive manufacturing of EOI spacecraft and components. This person will work with the AI&T leadership to create efficient and repeatable processes to assemble all aspects of the spacecraft and its components in alignment with EOI’s mission objectives. The Spacecraft Integration Engineer is responsible for the assembly and integration of complex spacecraft systems. This role will help define processes, tooling, and documentation standards for spacecraft manufacturing, assembly, and integration, as well as complete day-to-day execution of integration activities, to meet program milestones. This role requires an individual with a strong technical background and a willingness to learn, as the responsibilities bridge across many engineering disciplines. Additionally, the person in this role should have strong interpersonal skills in coordinating with people, both internally and externally (e.g., fabrication vendors, test houses, etc.). The person in this role must be organized so as to progress multiple manufacturing efforts simultaneously and ensure their timely completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, related engineering discipline, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional manufacturing engineering experience, with 3+ of those years focused on spacecraft/satellite applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. This includes written communication as well as face-to-face interactions
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated mastery of mechanical and electrical first principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of ASME and aerospace engineering standards
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing methods (traditional machining, CNC, additive manufacturing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with engineering best practices regarding aerospace, mechanical, structural design
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and testing to verify proof-of-concept designs

Responsibilities

  • Execute on spacecraft manufacturing and integration
  • Plan, document, and support the implementation of manufacturing setups and procedures across multiple engineering disciplines by collaborating with REs and understanding their specific needs
  • Plan and conduct manufacturing reviews
  • Prepare and deploy GSE/STE hardware to ensure the success and reliability of the spacecraft and its subsystems
  • Enforce AI&T procedures, documentation standards, and data handling policies across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and internal quality requirements
  • Work with subsystem Responsible Engineers (REs), program management, and mission assurance to align manufacturing activities with overall mission objectives
  • Serve as a voice in program reviews, risk assessments, and anomaly resolution
  • Effectively prioritize tasks by coordinating with AI&T Leadership to adhere to the overall program schedule
  • Verify that purchased equipment meets specs/requirements upon delivery from vendors
  • Provide oversight and technical guidance by instructing pertinent staff on the proper handling of engineering and flight hardware
  • Hold and participate in reviews with other members of the engineering team to optimize designs and maintain internal qualities and standards
  • Mentor assembly technicians and junior manufacturing engineers
