We are seeking a space domain expert to support the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) / Space Domain Awareness division to perform on-site analysis. This position will require in-office work at the customer site five days a week.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI w/Poly (Have an existing poly or be willing to submit to a poly)
  • 10+ years’ experience with DoW or commercial SDA systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or other technical field with demonstrated experience analyzing and reporting on large datasets
  • Notional understanding of space domain awareness or space operations, with an interest in the underlying operation of SDA systems
  • Analysis language skills: Python, MATLAB, R
  • An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in related engineering field
  • Extensive experience with statistics and statistical modeling (including the use of analysis languages previously mentioned)
  • Extensive software development experience including DevSecOps tooling; prior experience developing and deploying software on TS/SCI systems
  • Experience with and deep understanding of statistical estimation and astrodynamics / orbit determination

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site Space Domain Awareness (SDA) analytical support
  • Perform analysis that informs ongoing studies and force design efforts
  • Collaborate directly with government sponsors and a diverse contractor team
  • Execute rapid, quick-turn analytical tasks in support of mission needs
  • Develop minimally viable prototypes to support analytical findings and concepts
  • Analyze and evaluate SDA systems-of-systems, including their design and operation
  • Bring a deep understanding of SDA architectures, capabilities, and operational concepts
  • Identify novel opportunities and innovative approaches related to SDA
  • Communicate analytical findings and insights to senior leadership and decision makers
  • Support efforts that inform senior leaders and acquisition agencies on current and future mission needs
