About The Position

The Senior Sourcing Manager serves as a strategic leader within the Procurement Group, overseeing complex sourcing efforts across multiple construction projects. This role builds upon the tactical execution of sourcing managers and begins to incorporate leadership, process development, and enterprise-level procurement strategy. The Senior Sourcing Manager partners with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and ensure consistency in sourcing practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
  • Proven experience managing sourcing teams and leading complex procurement efforts.
  • Understanding of business principles such as contract language, bonds, insurance certificates, commercial terms and conditions, logistics and freight terms are all requirements within this position.
  • Detailed Knowledge of typical industry equipment, materials, OEM equipment and services, and scopes of work as they apply to subcontracting and or sourcing.
  • Detailed Knowledge of freight and logistics practices.
  • Detailed Knowledge of installation, start up, and performance testing procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results.
  • Ability to work on one or more projects simultaneously and provide support to proposals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving and initiative to learn new skills.

  • Experience with Design-Build projects and engineered equipment sourcing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing strategy and execution for high-value and complex construction projects.
  • Oversee and mentor sourcing managers and procurement specialists, providing guidance and support on project execution.
  • Develop and implement sourcing standards, templates, and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage enterprise-level bid lists, RFPs, and proposal evaluations, including final recommendations and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk Management, and Supply Chain leadership on contract redlining and compliance.
  • Ensure prequalification and risk evaluation processes are followed and documented across all sourcing efforts.
  • Coordinate with Estimators, Preconstruction Managers, and Project Managers to align sourcing with project goals and schedules.
  • Monitor long-lead procurement items and proactively manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery.
  • Lead internal meetings to review sourcing progress, resource allocation, and project support needs.
  • Participate in transition meetings between preconstruction and operations to ensure continuity in procurement strategy.
  • Identify and implement cost avoidance and value engineering opportunities.
  • Support corporate procurement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning with the Director of Procurement.
  • Support in staffing decisions, training, and development of procurement team members.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and communication of sourcing activities across departments.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.
