We are looking for a strategic and adaptable sourcing professional who can effectively balance cost, quality, and speed while supporting a fast moving hardware development environment. This person is comfortable working through ambiguity and shifting priorities, and brings a strong passion for building scalable sourcing strategies, systems, and supplier partnerships that enable best in class manufacturing performance. As a key member of the Sourcing team, the CapEx Sourcing Manager will own Capital Expenditure category management, leading sourcing initiatives across manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and test systems that are critical to new product introduction and production readiness. This role works cross functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Finance to ensure capital investments align with business goals and deliver the right outcomes across cost, quality, scalability, and long term reliability. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week in our San Francisco office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with a focus on CapEx, equipment, or manufacturing systems
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiations, RFQ/RFP management, and contracting
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation systems, and tooling
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and project management skills
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in consumer electronics, wearables, or medical device manufacturing
  • Familiarity with contract manufacturing environments (EMS/ODM/CM)
  • Knowledge of ERP/PLM systems and procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Arena, Coupa)
  • Experience managing global suppliers in regions such as Asia, Europe, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies for capital equipment, tooling, and manufacturing systems across Oura’s global contract manufacturing network
  • Drive reuse, standardization, and cost optimization initiatives to reduce overall capital spend
  • Build sourcing strategies that balance cost, innovation, lead time, scalability, and long term supplier capability in support of growth, NPI, and the technology roadmap
  • Build deep expertise in high precision manufacturing, automation, and enclosure production technologies, staying current on market trends and emerging solutions
  • Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers, leading business reviews and performance alignment around quality, delivery, cost, and innovation
  • Lead negotiations and contracting for all CapEx related purchases, including equipment, tooling, installation, and service agreements, ensuring compliance with company terms and lifecycle cost best practices
  • Develop cost models, should cost analyses, and benchmarking tools that incorporate total cost of ownership, depreciation, and ROI to guide investment decisions
  • Partner with Engineering, NPI Manufacturing, Operations, and Finance to define requirements, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure on time production readiness
  • Manage equipment procurement from RFQ through installation and qualification, proactively mitigating risks such as long lead times, obsolescence, and single source exposure
  • Maintain accurate supplier, contract, and asset data in company systems, ensuring financial and audit compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes, supplier performance, and capital governance, promoting scalable systems and lifecycle management best practices
