About The Position

Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling. Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for a Senior Sourcing Buyer at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia! The Senior Sourcing Buyer works as a commodity manager for assigned commodities, creating and executing commodity strategies. This individual is responsible for purchasing a variety of types of parts, managing simple and complex purchase requests, RFQs, price and contract term negotiations and sourcing decisions. The Senior Sourcing Buyer will negotiate strategic long-term goals and plans with our major suppliers in order to reduce cost, improve quality, maximize inventory turns, shorten lead-times and increase efficiency in the business. This position follows a Monday–Friday onsite schedule, with standard office hours of 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m, with possible deviations based on business needs. Requirements

7-10 years required experience in a Purchasing role evolving to a role of a strategic nature (not tactical): Required
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
Moderate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot table and V-lookup functions) and Microsoft Word: Required
Valid Drivers, license must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch Insurance standards.
Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally to include overnights
Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards

Responsibilities

Coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments to lead and/or execute sourcing projects.
Solicits quotations from current and new suppliers. Verifies current drawing revisions are sent to suppliers and coordinates resolution of any technical questions between the supplier and Engineering/Quality departments.
Prepares, evaluates and makes recommendations involving total cost of ownership data related to cost savings projects and new product programs.
Tracks commodity pricing and develops pricing analyses as input to price negotiations.
Coordinates with Global Purchasing counterparts in Germany and Switzerland to solicit quotations and participate in global sourcing decisions.
Aids in the development of Supply Agreements and develops strategic pricing, inventory and delivery plans with major suppliers.
Negotiates commercial issues and terms and conditions of agreements with suppliers.
Interfaces with Quality Assurance department to assure suppliers are reacting appropriately to quality issues.
Leads quality and delivery improvement projects with suppliers. Issues Supplier Corrective Action Requests for repeat or important delivery nonconformities ad follows up with suppliers to ensure effective measures are put in place to prevent future occurrences.
Develops new suppliers to meet Busch supplier standards for quality, cost, delivery and partnership.
Maintains contact with suppliers, provides feedback regarding performance and cost initiatives.
Coordinates with suppliers regarding visits to the Busch facilities and visits to supplier facilities.
Maintains pricing in LN systems.
Aids Buyer/Planners with escalated expediting needs.
Follows Global Sourcing and Busch Manufacturing processes and procedures regarding above responsibilities and aids in the development of internal process improvements.
